Complementary food for cats containing 500mg L-lysine by soft chew.
Arginine, a dietary amino-acid, stimulates herpes virus replication.
L-lysine is a competitive inhibitor of arginine for FHV-1 replication.
Studies show that when they eat 500mg L-lysine by day:
Infected cats under stress present a lower viral excretion than without. Clinical symptoms are less severe.
L-lysine absorption is safe. L-lysine supplementation does not modify arginine seric concentration.
